Today the public has aware of several information on internal organ health examinations which are detected using X-rays. These examinations are carried out by doctors or experts who are competent in the field of radiology. Radiologists are tasked to recommend the necessary examinations, interpret medical images from the results of the examination and use test results to treat to the patient’s condition directly. In this case, it should also be noted that the type of examination obtained is not only using X-rays, but also using nuclear power. This type of examination is expected to be an effective alternative modality to detect more clearly and to be a therapy using nuclear medicine. In this occasion, Radiology Study Program of Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Medicine held a guest lecture themed “Nuclear Radiology Imaging for Thyroid, Bone and Renal Examination” and presented by the source person who is expert in his field, namely dr. Benny Zulkarnaien, Sp.Rad(K), so that he can help broaden the knowledge and comprehension intended for experts/doctors and residents who are currently studying radiology specialists.
This guest lecture activity was held online and offline in the Radiology discussion room of Dr. Kariadi Hospital and attended by a total of 60 participants consisting of lecturers and residents. This event was hosted by dr. Maria Octaviani Purwantoro as the master of ceremony. The lecture was opened with an opening speech from the Head of the Radiology Study Program, dr. Sukma Imawati, Sp.Rad(K). Then it was continued with a lecture session which was divided into 3 sessions, namely material on thyroid fingerprints, bone scans, and radio-nuclear in nephro-urology, each with a question and answer session. The sessions were interesting and interactive with discussions between speakers and participants. After the discussion session, the activity was then closed by dr. Sukma Imawati, Sp.Rad(K).
